FAQ: How do I post a job/event/call for artists/forum topic/space to CAR?

• Create an account by clicking 'Create new account' on the left of the home page. A password will be emailed to you.
• Log in using the password (you can change it once you are logged in).
• Click on "Post a job" (event, call for artists, forum, space) in the Community Content box on the left of the home page.
• Fill in the posting form, click "submit", and your post will go live. You can see it on the home page!

Hints:

• Your title is what people will see, so be very specific. "Calling All Artists" sounds too general, but "Assistant Manager for XX Theater Company" is an effective Job title, and "Photography Exhibition - XX Gallery" is an effective Event title and "Public Art - CTA Belmont Station" is an effective Call for Artist title, etc.
• Don't forget you can upload an image, a logo, or even a video to your post!
• If you have several event posts, tag them with a keyword so that you can search for all your keyed listings and use that url for your webpage or e-blasts. For Ie., if you have several concerts in August, tag them "XXyconcert8-08" and when you search for that keyword, all your concerts will show up.

• Q: Is posting free?
  A: Yes
• Q: Can I edit my post once it is live?
  A: Yes, you can, at any time. You can also delete it. To edit or delete, log in to CAR (be sure you are logging in with the same account used to create your post), go to the post, and you will see an edit tab on the top.
• Q: Can I edit the organization info at the bottom of my post?
  A: Yes. To edit this info once logged in and looking at your post, click on the title of your organization in the 'Posting Organization' block. This will take you to another page just for your organization info (with all your posts below). There will be an edit tab on the top of this page.
• Q: When I submit my post, I am getting an error saying 'Find posting organization on CAR: Found no valid post with that title.' What do I do?
  A: This happened because you entered a new organization into the field that is intended only for searching for existing organizations already on CAR. Go to this search field (it will now be red), delete your organization name from it, click on the 'Or add new organization' link below this field, and add your organization info in the fields that load here. Submit your post and you will now have created a new record for your organization in CAR. Next time you post, you can search for it in the 'Find posting organization on CAR' field, and the site will automatically include your organization's details in your post.
• Q: I am seeing crazy code at the top of my submitted post. How do I get rid of it?
  A: This is extra code from the newest version of Microsoft Word. To avoid this, copy and paste your info onto a simple text editor, re-copy it from there, and paste it again into the posting form on CAR. Simple text editors include word pad, simple text, and notepad. You will find them in the programs menu on your computer.
